What is SgRiichi?
SgRiichi is the Riichi mahjong community in Singapore.
It is not a formal organisation. There is no central authority, governing body, or ownership over any part of the community. It exists as a shared space where players, clubs, and organisers coordinate — voluntarily, and on their own terms.
Why it exists
As the community grew, coordination became useful.
People began aligning not because they were required to, but because it worked better.
SgRiichi functions as a coordination layer: a space where activities, information, and effort can connect without requiring central management.
How it works
- Clubs and organisers run their own events and initiatives independently.
- Contributors operate autonomously.
- Activities are shared within a common space for visibility and coordination.
SgRiichi does not direct, approve, or manage any of this.
Influence and contribution
There are no formal titles or hierarchy.
Influence comes from consistent contribution, trust built over time, and whether others choose to engage.
Recognition is not assigned — it forms through participation.
Relationship with other initiatives
New ideas and initiatives may emerge over time.
These operate independently and are not automatically part of SgRiichi.
SgRiichi is not represented by any individual, group, or external project — regardless of naming, affiliation claims, or similarity.
Affiliation is only valid when explicitly and verifiably stated on this website.
This applies regardless of naming or similarity.
How to engage
- Players may join games and activities organised by independent hosts
- Organisers may share and coordinate their events
- Contributors may build on existing efforts or start new initiatives
Participation is voluntary and based on mutual coordination.
For overseas players and organisations
SgRiichi can serve as a coordination point for connecting with the local riichi community in Singapore.
