With effect from 11 January 2013, I’m proud to announce that we now have coloured riichi sticks to be used as negative 10,000 point sticks! No, the picture is not from google but from my camera.
We will be using only blue riichi sticks. Originally, the colour was planned to be red as it could symbolise blood. “Pay using your blood when you run out of points.” Unfortunately, there is a lack of red sticks for all tables and so the next alternative colour, blue will be used instead.
With negative points stick in place, recording of scores will be as per usual without the hassle of having to add 20,000 and potentially complicating the records. Negative scores will be recorded as such whenever applicable.
