We are coming to an end of our trial period for the usage of ladder system and WRC rules. Starting from next session, we will continue with this system and ruleset as the attendance has gotten a lot more stable and players seem to be more motivated to turn up.
The final session of the year seem pretty much pointless as there is no need for getting table points or fighting up the ladder etc. In addition, I thought we should take a break before playing the same variant rules for the whole of next year.
For the coming final session, we will be playing with 4 aka dora, mid-game draws and FIRE RIICHI. Other rules not mentioned will stick to WRC.
FIRE RIICHI is a 5 han riichi with 5k points as the deposit. Players can choose to normal riichi or to fire riichi. To fire riichi, do declare fire riichi. To normal riichi, declare riichi.
This rule is not created by myself but by JPML (I think). They have it in their Mahjong Fight Club arcade machines. So get ready for clashes of big hands and screams or be the hero to rush into 1k tanyao hand to win that 5k deposit!
In the interest of players who had attended the previous session with the intention of fighting up the rank for the last session, the ladder system will continue as usual.
Also…I am kind of expecting many dramatic plays that will result in screaming…shouting…etc I know it seems like the end of the world when your fire riichi furikomi into another fire riichi but please stay strong and keep your volume down.
