Riichi Mahjong in Singapore

I woke up to many messages. Some in capital letters, some cheers for me and some are missed-calls.

To those who didn’t know what happened, I had caused Popiah a penalty 25,000 points for being late.

As to how did that happen, my phone charger plug came off when I was sleeping so my phone went flat.

Qi Xian came to my place to knock on my door to wake me up.

During the countdown to disqualification, my internet was down. I HAD NO IDEA WHY. When it finally got through, I was DC-ing almost every minute in Tenhou.

Since…my phone was flat, I had to use Qi Xian’s phone data to play.

I did nothing for the team except the penalty. Getting a positive 1k for 1st han-chan and yakitori the 2nd han-chan.

I wanted to provide updates immediately but my internet was still down.

Worst start of the year for me.

I’m sorry to all who was rooting for me. I’m definitely very sorry to Popiah. It was a BIG SIGH.

Captain match schedule is out. Qi Xian will be playing at 5pm on 4th January. Lance will be commentating. Again, we are relying on Qi Xian to save Popiah again.

Popiah is currently 16.2k behind 2nd. Its quite a huge gap so hopefully the 2nd place has poor defense and the last place who is 10k behind us don’t do as well. Not easy because the 4th placed player is a 5 dan in Tenhou.

If Popiah lose this game, Popiah will be playing in the loser-bracket. Getting 1st or 2nd in the loser bracket will then qualify for semi-finals.

We are not eliminated regardless the result.
