General
We had 7 registered players which means 3 sit-outs. MCR section also have 3 sit-outs. As we only have max. 2 tables, MCR decided to support us and give us 1 player so as to reduce their sit-outs to two. However, due to 2 latecomers, this did not materialise so the priority was given to MCR section to form their 4th table.
Because of the huge mismatch of players in terms of rating at riichi side and it would be unfair to put Riichi players who volunteered to join the MCR section yet to join back Riichi from table 2, Game 2 was re-organised according to players’ rating instead of the ladder system.
This situation made me reflect about the current penalty system on latecomers. Although I’ve specified that only when it causes sit-outs, there will be penalty. In this case it didn’t but it caused disruption to the ladder in Riichi section. In the near future, penalty will no longer be result based. The penalty point system will change as well to be incorporate with the new attendance points system. QL has just started to work on it after end of his hiatus.
