In order to prevent abuse to the system for handling of latecomers, the system will be changed as such:
OLD SYSTEM
No sit-outs –
Latecomers (players yet to arrive by 4.45pm) are automatically shifted to the lowest ranked table, regardless of which table they were slated to begin at.
1, 2 or 3 sit-outs –
The sit-outs will get priority to play over the latecomers, and the latecomers will sit-out in their place instead. The sit-out player with the higher AP has priority to play.
NEW SYSTEM
If there are no sit-outs, all latecomers are now shifted to the lowest ranked table of the latecomer who has the lowest rank. If there is only one latecomer, then no shifting will be done. See below for an example:
Example 1:
3-table session. Players A and B are late. Then Player A will be shifted down to Table 2 and the highest ranked player at Table 2 will move to Table 1.
Example 2:
3-table session. Players A and B are late. Then Player A will be shifted down to Table 3 and the highest ranked player at Table 2 will move to Table 1, and the highest ranked player at Table 3 will move to Table 2.
Example 3:
Only 1 player, Player A, is late. There will be no shifting done.
If there are sit-outs, then then the sit-outs will get priority play over the latecomers as usual.
This system will be implemented from this weekend’s session (4 November 2017) onwards.
Feel free to direct any queries to me.
With that said, players are encouraged (and expected) to be on time for sessions so as to not cause inconvenience to other players who will need to wait for the latecomers.
The report for the session on 21 October will be published soon.
