Australia will be a holding a tournament on 7,8 December, a 8 han-chan tournament.
All players will play for 6 han-chan and the top 4 players will play with each other for 2 han-chan to determine the champion.
The champion will get a slot in WRC 2020, which is held in August 2020, in Vienna.
Details can be found here: http://armo19.riichimahjong.com.au/
Registration can be done directly on your own via the website but It’s better to let me know so that I can coordinate and loop all interested players together so we can make accommodation planning together.
Some simple breakdown on the cost based on my estimation
Flight: Cheapest is scoot, currently at $500
Accommodation: $40 per person ($80 per night)
Expenses: $200
Entry fee: $50
Total: Basically around $1000, if you are not intending to travel.
Regarding WRC Quota for Singapore, I’ve no idea how many we are getting. I’m still waiting for the WRC Organiser to get back to me. But because they are shrinking the number of participants, we probably have fewer quota than the last time.
Depending on how many Singaporean players participate in this Australia Riichi Mahjong Open, I may or may not change the date of our local tournament that is tentatively scheduled on 7,8 December, pending venue confirmation.
