To those who have been interested to learn Japanese Mahjong but can’t bring yourself to learn it yourself or to learn it through playing in a club setting, I’m delighted to annouce that we have Eric Quek, our trainer who will be in charge of teaching new players Riichi Mahjong or help them further familiarize with the game.
Occasionally, Eric will organise private session at his place in Tampines to teach Riichi Mahjong. There is no fixed schedule as it depends on demand and his unconfirmed availability. The session will be prioritised for first-timers followed by first-come-first-serve. Eric is taking his initiative and time to organise such sessions is to promote and grow our club. Hopefully more players are better assimilated to playing in clubs and start pursuing Riichi Mahjong as a Mind Sport. So for veteran players who wish to join session, you can let Eric know that you are available to fill in a table but no guarantee as we try to take in as many new players as possible.
Even if you don’t have any Mahjong background, you’re still welcome! But it requires a lot more effort to learn Riichi Mahjong without any Mahjong background so better to mentally prepared. ^^
If you are interested, there are two ways to join.
Meetup
If you are a meetup user, join us at http://www.meetup.com/Japanese-Mahjong-In-Singapore/. From there, you will be notified when Eric schedule a session and all you have to do is to RSVP.
Mailing list
Whenever Eric schedule a session at meetup, he will also send an e-mail to those who have expressed interest in learning. So for non meetup users, this is for you. Just fill up the form at https://sgriichimahjong.com/newcomers/ and Eric will be notified about it.
Enjoy the learning session!
